The BMW iX3 and Zeekr 7GT have become the first two vehicles to earn five-star safety ratings under Euro NCAP’s overhauled testing procedures. The BMW iX3 earned a 73 percent rating in the Safe Driving stage, with its driver-monitoring system and speed-limit recognition receiving praise. However, the Zeekr 7GT performed better, scoring 79 percent in the same category, thanks to its sophisticated driver monitoring system and sensors. In crash avoidance, the iX3 earned 83 percent, while the 7GT scored 89 percent, with its autonomous emergency braking showing near-flawless execution. Both cars held up well in Crash Protection, with the iX3 landing 86 percent and the 7GT scoring 93 percent. The Zeekr 7GT ultimately came out on top, edging out the BMW iX3 in the overall rankings. Both vehicles scored 95 percent in Post Crash Safety, with the BMW’s high-voltage battery isolating correctly after impacts, while the Zeekr dropped points due to its TPS eCall functionality falling short of a maximum score.
