Slovak navigation specialist Sygic has rolled out its motorcycle-focused Motorbike Mode to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto via app update 26.4. The feature brings Sygic’s rider-tailored navigation, weather alerts, and terrain data directly to motorcycle dashboards equipped with either infotainment system. Motorbike Mode debuted in March 2026 as a standalone in-app function, developed with input from Sygic’s own motorcycling staff and the broader riding community. It includes rider-focused routing, real-time weather awareness, elevation profiles, terrain data, lean-angle tracking, and a simplified interface optimized for on-bike use. Rider feedback drove the demand to bring the smartphone experience to motorcycle dashboards, and the update now supports several touring and adventure bikes with built-in or aftermarket CarPlay/Android Auto systems.

Sygic, founded in Bratislava in 2004, claims more than 200 million app downloads worldwide and pioneered turn-by-turn GPS on the iPhone in 2009. The company also notes it was the first offline navigation provider to support both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Beyond consumer apps, Sygic’s software powers navigation for over 4,000 commercial fleets and roughly five million professional drivers. Eurowag, a European mobility and payments firm, holds a majority stake in Sygic. The dashboard version mirrors the phone app’s toolset, adding pulsing visual alerts for accidents, hazards, and changing weather. iPhone users see an interface built around Apple’s Liquid Glass design language from iOS 26, designed for quick at-a-glance readability.

On-screen data includes elevation and terrain profiles, destination weather forecasts, fuel station locations along the route, and routing options that prioritize twisty or scenic roads over the fastest path—some requiring the Premium+ upgrade. Sygic says the integration offers clear advantages over phone-only navigation: larger built-in screens show more data at once, and riders can control the app using the bike’s existing controls instead of fumbling with a phone. Wireless voice directions are also sharper when routed through the bike’s audio system or a Bluetooth helmet intercom. The Sygic GPS Navigation & Maps app is free to download on Apple’s App Store and Google Play, with in-app purchases including Motorbike Mode. Supported hardware includes any aftermarket dash running Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, plus select models from Honda, Harley-Davidson, and Indian that ship with CarPlay or Android Auto-equipped dashboards.
