Samsara has launched Agent Studio, a no-code platform that lets fleet operators build custom AI agents using existing operational data to automate back-office workflows. The tool enables users to create agents from scratch or choose from over 15 pre-built templates for safety and maintenance tasks, all configured in plain English without requiring software development expertise. Fleets can access Agent Studio in open beta testing. The company also introduced AI-powered ride-alongs to assess driver performance at scale, replacing traditional in-person ride-alongs that demand significant time and labor. Samsara collaborated with food distributor UNFI, ranked No. 16 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of North America’s largest private carriers, to develop the AI ride-along capability. Additionally, Samsara unveiled Coaching Priority, an AI-driven feature that predicts which drivers face the highest crash risk, allowing fleets to prioritize coaching resources. For vehicle maintenance, the new Connected Asset Maintenance feature uses agentic AI to prioritize repair work by analyzing fault codes, estimating repair costs, and assessing the likelihood of minor issues escalating into major failures. Samsara’s AI Multicam platform has been enhanced with Bird’s Eye View, a 360-degree top-down composite view designed to help drivers navigate tight urban spaces and crowded yards safely. The updates were announced at Samsara’s Beyond 2026 conference in Las Vegas, where CEO Sanjit Biswas emphasized the growing capability of AI to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency. Biswas stated that AI can now automate away daily grind tasks, describing it as a ‘huge unlock’ for fleet operations. The company also highlighted real-world adoption by Pitney Bowes, which is using Samsara’s technology to streamline maintenance and testing Agent Studio to free up managerial time for driver engagement.
