The BMW M4 GT3 EVO has secured a Gold Cup victory at the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, with Ugo de Wilde, Tim Tramnitz, and Jens Klingmann driving the #998 ROWE Racing car to an impressive six-lap margin win in their class, finishing 11th overall. The #46 Team WRT entry, driven by Dan Harper, Max Hesse, and Valentino Rossi, was the highest-finishing BMW M4 GT3 EVO overall, taking sixth place.
Additional podium finishes were achieved by Team WRT and Paradine Competition in the Silver Cup and Bronze Cup, respectively. Despite a strong performance, BMW M Motorsport’s bid for overall victory was disappointing, with the team citing a lack of performance to challenge for the top positions.
The #32 Team WRT BMW M4 GT3 EVO and the #98 ROWE Racing entry were among the pre-race favorites for overall victory but ultimately finished ninth and 12th overall, respectively. Andreas Roos, Head of BMW M Motorsport, expressed mixed feelings about the outcome, acknowledging the team’s disappointment but also praising the performances of ROWE Racing and Team WRT.
Vincent Vosse, Team Principal of Team WRT, and Hans-Peter Naundorf, Team Principal of ROWE Racing, also shared their thoughts on the event, highlighting the team’s preparation and the challenges faced during the race.
