2027 Vespa Edizione Ottantesimo First Look: 9 Key Facts

Vespa is celebrating its 80th anniversary with the 2027 Edizione Ottantesimo, a limited-edition collector’s scooter that pairs the brand’s iconic steel-bodied heritage with its most powerful engine yet.

Unveiled in Rome during the “80 Years of an Icon” celebration, this numbered model is based on the Vespa GTS 310 and will reach just 25 U.S. buyers in December 2026. Globally, only 1,946 examples will be produced—a nod to 1946, the year Vespa was founded.

Priced at $12,000 MSRP, deliveries are timed for Christmas, though Canadian buyers will need to cross the border to snag one.

The Edizione Ottantesimo’s raw steel aesthetic is front and center, with a textured grey finish mimicking bare metal, accented by a vintage-inspired green on the saddle and wheel rims.

A green “80” graphic adorns both sides, doubling as a design Easter egg with a hexagonal Vespa logo shaped like a bolt, paying homage to the brand’s hand-built craftsmanship.

The passenger seat features a removable hard cover for a single-seat racing look, revealing a dual-seat setup underneath with heat-sealed seams and tone-on-tone stitching.

The wheels are a modern take on Vespa’s 1946 design, with closed, pressed sheet-metal rims updated with a diamond-cut channel.

Power comes from Vespa’s strongest engine to date: a 310 hpe (high performance engine) producing 25 horsepower.

Standard tech includes ABS, traction control, keyless ignition, full LED lighting, a 5-inch color TFT display, and the Vespa MIA connectivity system. Courtesy lights are tucked behind the leg shield and under the seat.

Buyers can personalize their scooter with factory accessories like a 36-liter top box, padded backrest, luggage racks, side bars, fairings, windscreens, and an electronic anti-theft system.

Each Edizione Ottantesimo arrives with a matching DOT-approved helmet featuring the same textured grey finish, green detailing, and “80” graphic, plus a numbered commemorative plaque and a coffee table book from Assouline tracing Vespa’s history through Piaggio’s archives.
