In a bizarre incident, an alligator assisted police in apprehending a man who fled a traffic stop in Louisiana. The suspect, Victor Rivas, was driving a Toyota Supra recklessly on Interstate 10 and crashed into the concrete barrier, causing a flat tire.
When troopers made a traffic stop on Interstate 310, Rivas allegedly showed signs of impairment and attempted to flee. However, his escape was hindered when he jumped off the elevated highway and into the swamp, where he was attacked by an alligator.

The alligator, which has been jokingly referred to as Deputy Al E Gator, bit Rivas on both arms, but he continued to run until deputies used drones to locate him. Rivas eventually surrendered and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The alligator was not injured and has returned to its normal habitat. The incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of driving under the influence and the unpredictable nature of wildlife in Louisiana’s swamps.
